Elementary

The Lighthouse Baptist School Elementary Department strives to provide its students with more than an excellent education for future learning, even though our kindergarten through sixth grade students score an average of a year or more ahead of the national average on achievement tests. Our Elementary program provides a solid Christian educational foundation for students by helping them to develop spiritually, academically, physically, and socially. Our Christian teachers promote a positive learning environment for our students during their formative years that prepares them for the Junior High School experience and beyond.

Daily Bible lessons are taught that develop spiritual character in our elementary students. The Christian curriculum in the lower grades provides students with a strong emphasis on the phonics program, which develops reading skills and comprehension. Beginning in first grade, students experience development of math skills, along with classes in science and social studies. All elementary students receive enrichment classes that include music, art, physical education. Educational field trips are used to supplement and reinforce the academic curriculum.

The LBS Elementary program instills in its students a lifelong love of learning which will serve them well today, tomorrow, and into the future!

Junior High

Lighthouse Baptist School provides a structured program of excellence for the Junior High student in grades 7-8. Qualified and committed teachers guide students through this challenging period in life with an academic program of excellence and many extracurricular activities all from a perspective of a biblical world-view. Responsibility, good study habits, and appropriate social behavior are emphasized in the classroom and in all activities.

Boys and girls discover their own potential and develop a love of learning as well as self-discipline as they are carefully guided by teachers, coaches, and school leaders who know them not just as students, but as individuals. As a result, students leave LBS Junior High School equipped and prepared for success in the High School curriculum.

Classes include Bible, English, math, science, history, study skills and physical education along with electives in the arts, computer classes, and Spanish. Students may begin earning credit level courses from the High School in eighth grade.

The faculty and staff are committed to a team concept working together with the Jr. High student to provide a curriculum and programs that are academically rigorous and developmentally appropriate.

High School

Lighthouse Baptist High School is grounded in a history of striving for academic excellence, discipline, creativity, and high expectations. This philosophy has endured over time, making LBS a leader in Christian education. As a college preparatory school, LBS prepares its students for postsecondary education and for the challenges of living in a rapidly changing world.

LBS offers academic programs that are demanding, stimulating, and engaging. Our goal is to challenge students intellectually and encourage them to reach their full academic potential while providing them with rich learning experiences in a wide variety of subject areas. Students are also given the opportunity to participate in dual-enrollment with local colleges in their junior and senior years. Weekly chapels, in addition to daily Bible classes, promote the students’ spiritual development.

Our secondary teaching staff is partnered with ABEKA Books and their educational specialists  to provide our students with an intellectually challenging subject matter that integrates technology and live instruction. Honors courses are throughout the core curriculum. Our teachers work with parents to provide college and career counseling, while guiding the student’s academic progress.

I cannot fully express how much I value the education I received as a Lighthouse Baptist School student! My rigorous, Christian-based education is something for which I will always thank God.
