Our Kindergarten graduates did a superior job showcasing the academic skills they learned throughout the year. From math and reading to hands-on learning activities, the students demonstrated just how much they have grown during their time in Kindergarten.
One of the highlights of the year was learning to count to one hundred by 2s, 5s, 10s, 25s, and 50s. Students put these counting skills into practice while learning about money and shopping. They became excellent “toy shop” shoppers, confidently making purchases and understanding how to count the correct change.
The students also mastered addition combinations up to the sum of ten through engaging games and daily activities. More importantly, they developed a true understanding of mathematical concepts rather than simply memorizing facts. This strong foundation has helped them become successful in both addition and subtraction.
Reading achievements were another exciting accomplishment this year. During the two-week reading contest, students averaged an impressive 36.4 pages read each day. We are incredibly proud of their dedication and enthusiasm for reading! Many students were confidently reading Level 1 and Level 2 books, placing them well above expected reading levels for Kindergarten and into first- and second-grade reading ranges. They proudly demonstrated these reading accomplishments during the Kindergarten Graduation Program.
Families and friends will enjoy watching the graduation performance, which gives a glimpse into a typical day in Kindergarten at LBS. The presentation reflects the joyful learning environment where teachers and students learn, grow, and play together each day.
Congratulations to the Kindergarten Class of 2026!
